“Change can be good. It just depends on what we make of it.”

Talking about a hot contemporary romance… Did I love this book?
You bet! And you can play safe and cheep with only 5 bucks since I’m pretty sure that I’m gonna win.

This book had all I want in a lovely contemporary romance:

  • a great main character (Jamie), with a great voice that made me cheer for her;
  • an amazingly hot love interest, that will make you giggle like crazy and lose your sleep … still, I wonder why would someone need to dream having someone like Josh so fresh in the memory?
  • a quite good cast of characters.. From the parents & friends to even the awkward boyfriend-wanna-be (yes, he was quite cartoon-ish but still somehow likable);
  • a cute storyline that will keep you up all night.
  • and I left the best at the end, ‘cuz the best-kiss award goes toooo.. drum, drum.. Josh! *blushing*

Josh was one of the best male characters I read in a while – he made me laugh, he made me fall for him, he made me smile seeing how easily you can misinterpret everything you see or hear. He is one of a kind.

I loved how at the end we got the chance to see it all from his perspective as well. There were these clues left behind like a puzzle and at the end they all fit perfectly together. So, this book goes straight to my hot-romances-that-i-want-to-read-again shelf. I should create one on GoodReads as well.

Coming from Elizabeth, I can’t say that I didn’t see it coming.
I am not new to her writing and I loved this book even more than the previous one. What can I say, this story melted  my heart, and so did Josh and Jamie, and their friends.

So, if you want to read some cute story with a pretty hot romance in it and some great characters (and a bit of sports), this one is for you.

“Sometimes I think that love is one big fairy tale. I wonder if people who say they are in love, if – really – they’ve just talked themselves into it. They want it so badly, they kind of make it happen. They fake it until they start believing their own story. Maybe that’s just sour grapes or something. Maybe because it doesn’t happen to me, I don’t want to think it happens to anyone else.”

There are some rules that you might want to keep in mind:

  • Rule Nr. 1:
Don’t make a bet unless you want to lose it!
  • Rule Nr. 2:
Don’t give away your heart if you fear that it might be returned to you in pieces.
  • Rule Nr. 3:
There are no rules in love and war.

“I think I’m dying to get to know a particular guy. Then he opens his mouth and ruins it.”

PS:

Thanks Laura.. I liked it so much! I laughed all night, because it kept me reading ’til dawn.

PSS:

This story reminds me a bit of a cute bet that was quite popular once:

Guy – I bet i can kiss you without touching your lips ^_^
Girl – That’s impossible, how much?
Guy – £20
*Guy kisses girl*
Girl – You touched my lips!
Guy – oh well, it was worth every penny!

What a cute review ^_^ with all these pictures and quotes, it makes me want to get myself a boyfriend! (I make it sound like I’m going to the super market and getting 2 for one half off :P)
You something? it’s always THESE kinds of books that keep us (well me & it seems you) up at night. The non hyped ones, with simple covers and cute summary. Don’t you agree? I’ve had this in my TBR pile for a while now and I might just bump it up to reading it sometime these up coming weeks. With all these finals suffocating me, I need a fun book like this one… I need this Josh your talking about ;D

    Great review!

    -thank you&come again.

Thanks hun. This book was so damn cute.
I am not into sports (and as far as I know we don’t play lacrosse here, so I had almost no idea what was that about before reading this book), but if all coaches were like Josh, I would probably try it ;))

And you are right, I am starting to think that the hype is ruining my reading experience.
I am tired of waiting for a book that people say it’s great/amazing/wonderful/blah-blah-blah only to get disappointed.
I love these cute stories that make you smile a lot and as a bonus have a cute guy to dream about ;)))

OH SNAP! as soon as you said lacrosse a lightbulb went off! I READ THIS BOOK! no wonder it seemed so familiar!! I just mistaken it for some other book *face palm* Jamie goes to live with her mom during the summer, and her mom has a younger trainer boyfriend right? ahhhh no wonder I was thinking of summer when I read your review, because I read it this past summer :p I’m such an idiot.

Now that I got my memory back, I sure do agree. Josh was swoon worthy!! He’s especially a sexy gal when he dressed up as a lady xD

‘Hype is evil’ is my motto! It’s nice to see people liking books and praising them but now I just think it’s… not fake per se but people just have low standards for books. Like with Lola, geez how could anyone like that book? it’s because Perkins is the author -__- which is not necessarily a bad thing but not good thing either.

Yup, this was definitely cute and smile worthy! I read it in one sitting (and I remember, my mom and sister were going to a wedding but I didn’t want to go so I went to my cousins house and finished the book there xD)

        -thank you&come again.

Ha haa.. it happened to me as well to forget about a book I’ve read. Well this is the main reason I decided to write reviews, because when my memory is busy remembering other things I have a search form to help me, LOL.
I am glad that you liked it as well. And yes, Josh is cute in any form he comes by ;))

These 2 were really great. I love her style and I can’t wait to read some more.
What other books did you like from her?

      • sunshine says:

I Do, Hot Summer Nights, At First Sight, Love Happens and Love at First Click. They’re all pretty short, but the perfect amount of cute!

I have to check “Hot Summer Nights” and “Love Happens”. I’ve read all the others and I loved them. You are right, they are really cute 🙂
