About The Author

Robin LaFevers

L. R. La Fevers (Robin Lorraine when she’s in really big trouble) was raised on a steady diet of fairy tales, Bulfinch’s mythology, and 19th century poetry, surrounded by shelves of old dusty books. It is not surprising she grew up to be a hopeless romantic.

Even though she lived in the city, she had an unusually wide variety of pets. In addition to dogs, cats, and rabbits, at one time or another her family also had a goat, chickens, chipmunks, a baby anteater, and, for a few short weeks, two baby bear cubs, who were VERY wild and untamed She had a grandmother who was very much like Phil Fludd and whisked her off on many wonderful adventures, often involving animals‘ This has given her a deep appreciation for wild things and their need to live in their own environment.

Though she has never trained as an assassin or joined a convent, she did attend Catholic school for three years, which instilled in her a deep fascination with sacred rituals and the concept of the Divine. She has been on a search for answers to life’s mysteries ever since.
Since she has spent a large portion of her life being told she was making up things that weren’t there, she feels this proves she was destined to write fiction.

While many of those answers still elude her, she was lucky enough to find her one true love, and is living happily ever after with him in the foothills of southern California.

In addition to writing about teen assassin nuns in medieval Brittany, she writes books for middle grade readers, including the Theodosia books and the Nathaniel Fludd, Beastologist series.

Random facts about Robin:

– The scariest thing I ever did was jump out of an airplane. Don’t ever try it. I took a daylong sky diving class and jumped out of a plane at the end of the day. The. Scariest. Thing. Ever. Give me an evil warlord or vicious goblin any day.
– I can’t watch scary movies. They frighten me too much and I have horrible, horrible nightmares.
– I hate shopping. HATE it. I’d rather read a good book any day.
– I am easily bored and daydream a lot. This used to get me into trouble when I was younger, but now it’s my job to daydream and make up stories! How cool is that?
– Sometimes I read three or four different books at once. That way I have a book for whatever mood I’m in.
– I’m one of those adults who still believe in magic. Maybe not BIG hocus-pocus type magic, but little magic that’s hidden in the world all around us.

Now we’re talking! This is what an assassin’s story should look like, this is what I expected from the assassin-nuns concept I’ve been sold the first time around 😀 DARK TRIUMPH is one of the best sequels out there, as it takes the story further and so it develops into something wonderful, something beautifully dark. “It is a good thing…

How many ways to kill a man do you know? Probably many, right? Now, how many of them could you use if in trouble? For me the answer is around.. arr.. none, if you don’t count the fact that I could bore someone to death, but that would take me quite a while. This being said I…
